Northpower | Asset Management Plan 2023

Northpower is an electricity distribution business based in Northland, New Zealand. The company is required by law to regularly produce an asset management plan, which details all of the company's asset and how it manages these assets. The asset management plan is a very long document.

My role was as copyeditor, so one of the last stages of the production process. As each section was written and approved, it was handed through to me for editing in Microsoft Word. I checked for spelling, punctuation, grammar and formatting errors, and also ensured the document was able to be read by the general public.

There were a couple of challenges. Some parts of the document were very technical and it was challenging to make the document readable for the public. The copyediting stage had to be done as quickly as possible, so I had to turn the project around in a short time frame.
