Ministry for the Environment
Ministry for the Environment is a project by AndrewStrugnell
I absolutely love working on films like these! I am energised by telling stories about environmental resilience and social development, while collaborating with iwi and promoting their voice.
Ministry for the Environment asked me to help them produce three one-minute stories about the restoration works in Te Hoiere/Pelorus as part of the $7.58 million funding for the Jobs For Nature initiative. Te Hoiere has a special ecosystem in Marlborough and it is significant to Ngāti Kuia, the iwi of this area. Through Jobs For Nature, the restoration efforts support the environment while simultaneously providing learning and career opportunities.
The three stories talk about partnership, community and practical action.
To create these stories, I lead:
- story direction
- interviews
- filming
- drone operation
- editing
- review and delivery
The three stories were each delivered in the following aspect ratios:
- 16:9 (YouTube)
- 4:5 (Facebook)
- 9:16 (Instagram Stories/YouTube Shorts)
It was a pleasure to work with numerous groups including Ngāti Kuia, Marlborough District Council, NZ Landcare Trust, Conservation Kids, parents and children, and Kotahitanga mō te Taiao Alliance.
