Tonik Hair, Kuripuni.
The site began as a simple 'shop window' to provide an online presence for an established hairdresser's. Since then, the site has grown to match the business.
Covid-19 meant that, whilst the premises were closed, there was a risk of losing touch with customers. By reaching out to customers and inviting them to request bookings after lock-down ended, the business was able to maintain contact and prepare for post-Covid operations.
The 'Booking Request' page invites visitors to select a stylist and a combination of services. Visitors can specify whether they would prefer a morning or afternoon appointment and on which day(s) of the week they will be available. An alert email is sent to the business for each request, including a link to a full list of requests. The list is visible only to the owner, and can be sorted and filtered by stylist, so individual workloads can be prepared.
Another initiative that developed during lock-down is the online shop. The shop enables the business to keep operating whilst salon appointments are on 'hold'. The shop presents a set of hair and beauty products in an 'image grid' which can be filtered by brand and product type. Customers pay by credit card or direct bank transfer and purchases are either posted or put by for collection.
