LittleLamb — illustration & pattern design for washable nappies
LittleLamb wanted to explore an autumn theme that appealed to their UK market and time the release of the prints with the changing seasons. The client requested a collection that steered away from their competitors—often with garish primary colours and oversimplified child-like patterns. I proposed a more sophisticated, timeless style, which aimed to appeal more to the parent making the purchase rather than to the infant wearing it. It was important that the illustrations had life and personality too—to sympathize with the maternal state of mind of a parent caring for their newborn. These patterns were hand-illustrated, and took inspiration from woodland animals typical of the UK and their surrounding environment. This natural approach reflected LittleLamb's focus on sustainability—a core value of their brand.
