ROXBOX is an educational toy company dedicated to sparking curiosity and discovery through science. The brand’s unique offerings, including crystal mining buckets and dinosaur excavation kits, provide hands-on learning experiences that make science fun and engaging for kids. With its distinctive branding and innovative products, ROXBOX transforms learning into an adventure.

Challenge

As a completely new venture, ROXBOX started with a blank slate. The challenge was to establish the company, design its products, create its brand identity, and build a strong presence in the competitive educational toy market.

Solution

As the founder of ROXBOX, I managed every aspect of its launch and growth:

  • Product Development & Sourcing: Sourced raw materials globally to create high-quality science discovery toys that stand out in the market. I design all packaging, collateral and ad/social creative.
  • Branding & Positioning: Developed a distinctive brand identity and messaging that resonates with parents and science-loving kids.
  • E-Commerce Setup: Built the ROXBOX website on Shopify, incorporating subscription-based products and a selection of plug-ins to boost lifetime value (LTV).
  • AI-Driven Learning App: Leveraged AI technology to build a complementary app, integrated into our online database, as a learning aid for children. The app enhances the ROXBOX experience with interactive educational tools.
  • Marketing & Automation: Used Klaviyo to grow the email database to over 6,000 contacts with minimal advertising budget. Designed and implemented automated workflows to increase conversions and drive repeat purchases, while managing a promotional calendar to optimize sales throughout the year.
  • Marketing & PR: Conducted targeted advertising campaigns, public relations efforts, and social media outreach to build brand awareness and engage customers.
  • Operations & Finance: Streamlined supply chain operations, managed budgets, and ensured smooth day-to-day business operations.

Results

ROXBOX achieved over $100K in revenue within its first eight months, driven by a strategic approach to marketing, automation, and customer engagement. We were featured on TVNZ and Newshub, and hosted a launch event which attracted crowds in the hundreds. By leveraging tools like Klaviyo, I’ve built a highly engaged email database and established automated systems that have improved customer retention and lifetime value. These successes demonstrate my ability to combine creativity, data-driven decision-making, and operational expertise to build a thriving business from the ground up.
